Family Festivities at Windmill Hill

Celebrations were in full swing at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon as families gathered at the setting for a fun-filled festive morning, complete with a special Grotto visit.

At the day nursery on Whitehill Way, children were transported to the North Pole as they met Father Christmas and received an early gift, before being immersed in creative learning experiences like preparing reindeer food, gingerbread decorating and card making.

As part of the experience, pre-schoolers were delighted to have their faces painted by talented practitioners for a festive disco, whilst parents enjoyed browsing an outdoor market, with stalls selling Christmas gifts, accessories, personalised decorations, cakes and more.

All proceeds raised from the celebrations were then donated to the nursery’s Charity of the Year; YoungMinds, with the festive morning being their final fundraising push for the worthy cause, with funds helping to back their ‘Never Alone’ campaign, which utilises digital support to ensure every young person can access help quickly and easily to improve their situation.

Windmill Hill Quality Manager, Gemma Gill explained;

“Events like this really capture the spirit of our nursery. It was fantastic to welcome families into the setting, see the children so engaged in the festive activities, and end the year with a celebration that also gives back. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who supported the morning and helped us raise funds for YoungMinds and their important mission.”
