Opening times and general nursery information

Which days and times are you open?

Our nurseries are open all year round, Monday to Friday – 52 weeks a year. Nursery opening and closing times vary – please check your local nursery’s webpage to find their specific opening hours.

The majority of our nurseries open between 7.30am and 6.30pm however, please check your local nursery’s webpage to find their exact opening hours. Our nurseries are closed on weekends and UK bank holidays* and we also close for 2 full team inset days* each year.

*excluding our Cambridge nurseries.

Do you offer half days?

Some of our nurseries offer half day sessions. Please check with your local nursery directly.

Can I choose to bring my child in later, or pick them up earlier, than the standard nursery hours?

Yes of course, you can drop and pick up your child any time between the nurseries opening hours. However, you will still have to pay fees for the full session.

What age range do you cater for?

Childbase Partnership caters for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Our nurseries provide high-quality early years education and care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a nurturing and stimulating environment. With experienced and qualified staff, Childbase Partnership nurseries ensure each child’s needs are met through age-appropriate activities and learning opportunities. Whether your little one is just starting their childcare journey or preparing for primary school, we are equipped to support their development every step of the way. 

Fees and funding

What are your nursery fees?

All of our nursery fees can be viewed and downloaded on your local nursery’s webpage.

What do your fees cover?

Our fees are fully inclusive and include meals, snacks, nappies, wipes, suncream and infant formula milk if applicable.

Do I need to supply food and drink for my child?

No, our service is fully inclusive, meaning that our menu, which has been created in conjunction with a nutritional therapist, and drinks, are included within our fees.

Can I pay on an hourly basis?

Unfortunately not. We only offer full day sessions at our nurseries and half day sessions at selected nurseries.

Do you accept funding?

Yes, we offer a variety of funding options at our nurseries. A funding factsheet is available on your local nursery’s webpage or one of our nursery colleagues can assist you.

Where do I add my funding code for my child?

Your nursery will send you a digital form to complete for your funding code details.

What is tax free childcare?

This is a government scheme to support working families who are eligible. More information can be found here.

Applying for a place and starting nursery

Is there a Childbase Partnership nursery near me?

You can find your closest nursery on our website either by postcode search or location search.

Do the nurseries have gardens?

Yes, all our nurseries have their own gardens as we fully understand the importance and benefits of children being outdoors.  

Can I visit the nursery?

Yes of course, please contact the nursery via their online form or via phone to arrange a suitable time to visit.

How do I apply for a place at Childbase Partnership?

Please contact the nursery you are interested in directly to find out their availability. If space is available, you will be asked to complete a digital registration form to confirm your interest. You will also be asked to pay a £50 non-refundable administration fee. Alternatively, if a space is not available, you can join the nursery waiting list.

What happens after I register pay my registration fee?

After completion of your registration form and confirmation that the registration fee is paid, the nursery will confirm your place in writing and the associate fees. You will be asked to accept this place within 1 week and pay 50% of the fees. Payment options are available. We will then ask you to complete some further paperwork and look to organise some settling in sessions for you.

What are settling in sessions?

In the months before your start date, the nursery will organise some settling in sessions to allow you and your child to spend time within the nursery. This allows us the opportunity to get to know your child, their key care routines, interests and likes and introduce your Key Person – the person who will help support your transition to nursery and support your child’s learning and development within the room. Additionally, you will also be able to ask us any questions you may have.

Can I amend my start date or sessions?

We require 6 weeks’ notice, once registered, to make any changes to start dates or booked sessions. Please contact your nursery directly to discuss this.

How do I receive updates about my child at nursery?

We use the Parentzone app, which is updated regularly, with observations and photographs of your child at nursery.

What are your terms and conditions?

You can view our full terms and conditions here. You will be asked to review these before registering for a nursery place.

What is your notice period?

We have a 6 week notice period should you wish to leave one of our nurseries, this is 4 weeks at Edwinstowe Close and West Cambridge. We ask for any notice to be provided in writing.

Environmental information

What environmental initiatives has Childbase Partnership undertaken, and how are children involved?

Children actively participate in Eco-Schools and all of our nurseries have achieved the top Green Flag award. 

The programme covers various topics such as litter, waste, biodiversity and health living.

Our Health, Safety and Environment mascot Harry the Hippo also supports children to understand the world around them and how they can actively support the environment.

Childbase Partnership Nursery has received several accreditations and awards for its high-quality early year’s education and care, including the Eco-Schools Green Flag and Healthy Early Years London awards. 

Cedars Day Nursery - Leighton Buzzard

We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
