Blue Monday at Nursery on the Green

Blue Monday

Despite being labelled as the ‘the saddest day of the year’, there were smiles all round at Nursery on the Green in Southall as colleagues chose to reinvent ‘Blue Monday’.

Dressed in their favourite blue clothing, colleagues from the setting on Thorncliffe Road brought in ‘blue’ snacks and drinks to share with their team during breaks, all whilst taking the time to connect with each other and reflect on the importance of wellbeing during winter.

Meanwhile, children took part in a range of mindfulness activities, as well as arts and crafts, cosy storytelling sessions and colour hunts to highlight that there is no such thing as a ‘blue’ Monday at Nursery on the Green, especially when immersed in interests with friends.

Nursery on the Green Manager, Meera Ladva explained;

“While Blue Monday is often associated with low moods, our colleagues approached the day with their usual enthusiasm and warmth. Their commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing and development never wavers, and it’s that positive mindset which helps create an environment where children feel happy, secure and ready to learn.”

‘Blue Monday’ is marked on the third Monday of January every year.
