Celebrating 25 years of Mulberry

Festivities were in full swing at Mulberry Day Nursery in Maidenhead as colleagues, children and families came together to celebrate the settings milestone 25th birthday.

Decorated with balloons and bunting, the setting on Boyn Hill Avenue provided a nostalgic backdrop for the special occasion. Devoted teams took time to reflect on the thousands of young lives they have helped shape since opening their doors in 2001, while enjoying cake, a celebratory picnic lunch with the children and gifts from their appreciative managers.

Throughout the day, children were delighted to immerse themselves in all the activities on offer, including party games and arts and crafts sessions where they made special birthday cards, whilst proud families joined in with the festivities during pick-up and drop-off times.

Over the years, Mulberry have taken part in endless community ventures, including visiting donating to local food banks and taking part in litter picking initiatives to clear up their area, as well as being the proud holders of a host of accolades, including the prestigious Green Flag with Distinction from Eco-Schools for their environmental efforts.

Since opening, the nursery and its colleagues have also helped to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes including Bliss, The Trussell Trust and Mind with fundraisers like sleep rough nights, summer fayres and sponsored cycling challenges, contributing to the  four million plus figure raised by Childbase Partnership for charity over its history.

Mulberry Day Nursery Manager, Kristina Edgson explained;

“Looking back over the years, we feel incredibly proud of the difference our nursery has made to so many children and families, as well as the positive impact we have had within our local community. From fundraising for charities close to our hearts to getting involved in environmental and community initiatives, our colleagues have always been passionate about making a difference beyond the nursery. It was lovely to take a moment to celebrate everything we have achieved together, while also looking forward to the future.”
