There were bittersweet celebrations at West Downs Day Nursery in Winchester as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time at the setting with a special graduation ceremony.
Dressed in party clothes under their gowns and mortar boards, the children from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ setting on Romsey Road proudly paraded down an aisle of planets to collect their scrolls of achievement and graduation gifts, watched on by their proud parents and practitioners. The space themed event saw practitioners transform into astronauts, helping to create an out-of-this-world experience for the children’s milestone occasion.
The festivities continued with a performance of ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ for their families, followed by space-themed food and party games, including creating their very own galaxies in bottles. The children were then treated to an exciting visit from FizzPop, a fantastic scientist who brought science to life with a series of spectacular experiments – including the chance for everyone to be caught inside a giant bubble!
West Downs Day Nursery Manager, Ren Norman-Greer explained;
“The graduation was a wonderful way to mark this special milestone and celebrate the children as they prepare to blast off on their next big adventure – starting school! We’ve loved watching them grow, learn and flourish during their time with us, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved. It was fantastic to see them enjoying the celebrations with their families and creating such special memories together.”
