Celebrating the ‘Class of 2026’ at Julia Durbin

There were bittersweet celebrations at Julia Durbin Day Nursery in Headington as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time at the setting with a jungle-themed graduation.

The special event, held at the setting on Roosevelt Drive, saw the nursery transformed into a colourful rainforest adventure, complete with themed decorations and an embellished graduation cake to help create a memorable celebration for the children and their families.

The event included an exciting animal experience with entertainer Wild Science, where children had the opportunity to get up close to a variety of creatures and learn more about the natural world. The young explorers met a snake, mouse, scorpion, giant land snail and cockroach, helping the children learn through memorable, hands-on experiences.

After enjoying the entertainment with their friends, the children were thrilled to be joined by their proud family members for the ceremony, who cheered them on as they donned their graduation caps and gowns, performed their graduation song and received their certificates.

Julia Durbin Manager, Emma Wallbridge, said:

“Saying goodbye is always emotional, particularly when we have supported families across multiple siblings and built such special bonds over the years. However, we know they will thrive in this next chapter. We are so proud of everything our pre-schoolers have achieved and it has been wonderful watching them grow into confident, school-ready children.”
