Celebrating three decades of Cherry Trees

Festivities were in full swing at Cherry Trees Day Nursery in Cranfield as colleagues, children and families came together to celebrate the setting’s 30th birthday.

Decorated with balloons and bunting, the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ setting on Duncan Road provided a nostalgic backdrop for the milestone occasion. Devoted teams took time to reflect on the thousands of young lives they have helped shape since opening their doors in 1996, celebrating with a party, buffet, cake and teddy bear gifts for each of the children.

Throughout the day, children were delighted to immerse themselves in all the activities on offer, including games and arts and crafts sessions where they made special birthday cards, before welcoming the Childbase Partnership Executive Team to join in with the festivities.

Over the years, Cherry Trees have taken part in endless community ventures, including visiting donating to local food banks and taking part in litter picking initiatives to clear up their area, as well as being the proud holders of a host of accolades, including the prestigious Green Flag with Distinction from Eco-Schools for their environmental efforts.

Since opening, the nursery and its colleagues have also helped to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes including Bliss, The Trussell Trust and Mind with fundraisers like sleep rough nights, summer fayres and sponsored cycling challenges, contributing to the  four million plus figure raised by Childbase Partnership for charity over its history.

Cherry Trees Manager, Amy Fenn explained;

“Celebrating 30 years of Cherry Trees was such a special moment for everyone connected to the nursery. We are so proud of the nurturing environment we have built since opening three decades ago, and of the strong relationships we continue to have within our local community. Cherry Trees has always been about making a positive difference, and we are excited for many more years to come.”

Cherry Trees is part of the employee-owned Childbase Partnership.
