Celebrating 25 years’ service at Lavenders

There was cause for celebration at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford as the team of Early Years professionals came together to honour their beloved colleague Gita Rani, who marked an incredible 25-year service milestone at the setting.

Gita began her journey at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Bushmead Avenue setting in 2001 as an Unqualified Practitioner. With a strong commitment to professional development, she went on to gain her qualifications while at Childbase Partnership and has since spent the majority of her career in the baby room, nurturing and shaping hundreds of young children.

Raising money for worthy causes has also been integral to Gita’s time at Childbase, taking part in team fundraisers including dress up days, charity auctions and food bank drives, which have helped contribute to the £4 million and counting raised by Childbase Partnership for charities including YoungMinds, The Trussell Trust and CRUK over the past 35 years.

To celebrate Gita’s remarkable quarter-century career in childcare, colleagues presented her with gifts and flowers, alongside a tax-free bonus reward payment and an extra paid week of annual leave. The celebrations also included a special lunch filled with Gita’s favourite foods, including vegetable samosas, spring rolls and Victoria sponge cake, whilst reminiscing over treasured memories from her 25 years at Lavenders.

Lavenders Day Nursery Manager, Dizzie Newberry explained;

“Gita is a cornerstone of Lavenders and has touched the lives of so many children, families and colleagues over the past 25 years. Her dedication, warmth and passion for Early Years care is truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with her and feel so grateful for everything she continues to give to our nursery community.”
