National Storytelling Week at Nursery on the Green

Celebrations were well underway at Nursery on the Green in Southall as children and colleagues marked National Storytelling Week with a series of activities.

At the award-winning setting on Thorncliffe Road, pre-schoolers were delighted to share their favourite books with friends, as well as exploring story sacks, character puppets, themed tuff trays and role play games to bring the tales to life and spark further learning opportunities.

As part of the festivities, colleagues dressed up as beloved characters from books including ‘The Three Little Pigs’, creating immersive experiences to capture the children’s imaginations. This was in addition to reading circles, sing-alongs, and craft activities inspired by the stories, ensuring every child could participate in a fun and educational way.

Nursery on the Green Manager, Meera Ladva explained;

“National Storytelling Week is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the magic of stories and the powerful role they play in children’s development. Seeing the children so engaged  by sharing their favourite books, role-playing characters and bringing stories to life has been truly special. These experiences help build language skills, confidence and imagination, while making learning fun and meaningful for every child.”
