Childbase Partnership has adopted The Sick Children’s Trust, the charity that provides families with a warm, welcoming place to stay when their child is seriously ill in hospital, for a year-long fundraising and awareness drive throughout 2026.

Following a company-wide vote to choose a new ‘Charity of the Year’, from January, colleagues and families across the 43-day nurseries and Head Office will be supporting The Sick Children’s Trust in their mission to keep families close to their seriously ill children while they receive hospital treatment, as well as easing emotional and financial pressures.

Without this vital support, many families would face exhausting long-distance travel, sleepless nights in hospital chairs, or the strain of costly hotel stays simply to remain near their child’s bedside. Their ‘Homes from Home’ allow parents and carers to rest, cook meals, shower and regain strength, enabling them to focus fully on supporting their child’s recovery.

Each year, the charity supports more than 3,200 families across ten Homes from Home in London, Cambridge, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle. It costs £40 per night to support a family, and the charity relies entirely on voluntary donations to provide this essential accommodation free of charge during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

The Sick Children’s Trust CEO, Jane Featherstone said;

“We couldn’t be more honoured that The Sick Children’s Trust has been chosen by Childbase Partnership as their Charity of the Year. Together, we share a commitment to supporting children and families when they need it most. The incredible funds raised will provide vital ‘Homes from Home’ for families with a sick child in hospital, ensuring parents can stay close to their loved ones during the most challenging times. We very much look forward to an exciting year ahead.”

Childbase Partnership Chairman, Mike Thompson said;

“No parent should have to choose between being close to their sick child and coping with the financial and emotional strain of hospital stays. The Sick Children’s Trust ensures families are supported with a safe, welcoming place to stay, and we are incredibly proud to stand alongside them throughout 2026 to help ease that burden for as many families as possible.”

Childbase Partnership has given over £4 million to charities including The Trussell Trust, CRUK and Alzheimer’s Society since opening in 1989, whilst every employee is also given a paid Volunteer Day annually to help give back to the causes that matter most to them.
