‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’, ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘The Smeds and the Smoos’ were just some of the beloved books that inspired children and colleagues from West Cambridge Day Nursery as they dressed up in character to celebrate World Book Day.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Charles Babbage Road, pre-schoolers were delighted to share their favourite stories with friends and take part in book themed crafting activities, whilst practitioners delivered exciting storytelling sessions complete with props to commemorate the annual event, which looks to encourage a lasting love of reading.
As part of the festivities, colleagues enjoyed an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed tea party, complete with homemade jam tarts, sausage rolls, sandwiches and cakes, courtesy of Business Administrator, Amanda Derouich, who dressed as Alice.
West Cambridge Business Administrator, Amanda Derouich explained;
“We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day and exploring our favourite children’s stories across the nursery. The occasion provided endless opportunities for creativity and it was lovely to be able to put on a treat for the team, who were all thrilled.”
World Book Day was celebrated on 2nd March.
