Woodlands celebrate World Book Day

‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘Elmer’ were just some of the beloved books that inspired the costumes of children and colleagues at Woodlands Day Nursery in Milton Keynes as they dressed up to celebrate World Book Day at the setting.

At the award-winning setting in Byerly Place, pre-schoolers were delighted to share their favourite stories with friends and take part in themed activities, including delving into story sacks and creating their very own bookmarks, whilst practitioners delivered exciting storytelling sessions, complete with props to commemorate the annual event, which looks to celebrate the magic of books and encourage a lasting love of reading.

Woodlands Day Nursery Manager, Alyson Hefferon explained;

“We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day. Our little ones had the opportunity to explore new worlds, learn about different authors, and dive into exciting adventures through the power of storytelling. We believe that fostering a love for reading at a young age is crucial, and we are so grateful to be able to share the magic of books every day.”

World Book Day is marked on 7th March 2024 and was created by UNESCO in 1995.
