Generous parents and practitioners from Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon have made a donation of Easter eggs to Swindon Food Collective to help local people who need it most.
Following a record-rise in demand for items at food banks due to the cost-of-living, families from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Windmill Hill Business Park made the contribution of 45 chocolate eggs to help ensure each child would receive a treat this Easter.
Having pledged a year-long fundraising and donation drive for The Trussell Trust, parents and colleagues from the setting have been taking part in collections of essential food and household items to keep local food banks well stocked in supplies to serve the community.
Windmill Hill Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;
“We realise that lots of people are struggling to make ends meet at the moment and we are devoted to easing some of this hardship. Our nursery families have already shown so much kindness towards this worthy cause and we are looking forward to doing more to support our local food banks this year, including volunteering days with our colleagues.”
