There was cause for celebration at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon as children and practitioners marked Lunar New Year with a series of inspired activities.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Windmill Hill Business Park, pre-schoolers showcased their creativity by painting lanterns and making paper chains which were then hung above the classroom doors as a symbol of good luck, before trying their hand at painting Chinese letters and numbers to develop fine motor and mark making skills.
As part of the festivities for the ‘Year of the Rabbit’, children were immersed in storytelling opportunities where they used the projector to create shadow figures for a special show, as well as impersonating zodiac animals including dragons and tigers to bring the tales to life.
