Christmas came early for delighted families at Green Park Day Nursery in Reading as they were transported to a Winter Wonderland, all whilst raising money for charity ‘Bliss’.
At the award-winning setting on South Oak Way, children and parents took to the grounds outside where they explored a magical trail of festive lights and admired the lit gardens, before meeting Father Christmas and enjoying a mince pie and warm beverage.
Thanks to generous donations, Green Park Day Nursery raised a grand total of £300.00 for the worthy cause, which will now go towards helping babies born premature or sick.
As a result of their fundraising efforts throughout the year, which have included colleagues spending a night ‘sleeping rough’ under the stars, a toy sale, running festivals, a Jubilee tea party, dress up days and more, the nursery have helped contribute to the £160,000 raised so far by Childbase Partnership settings for Bliss since January.
Green Park Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Grace Critcher explained;
“Everybody had a fantastic time exploring our Winter Wonderland and having the chance to receive an early present from Santa. We have had an incredible year of fundraising for Bliss and are so grateful to our amazing nursery families for all their support. We are thrilled to be making this donation, which will help ensure more babies have the best chance of survival.”
