Children at Nene Valley Day Nursery in Northampton are making waves in their eco efforts after adopting a turtle through the WWF as part of their Eco-School programme.
The young learners were thrilled to receive their official adoption certificate, marking their contribution to protecting endangered marine life. Their excitement continued as they proudly welcomed a turtle soft toy to the nursery, which will be displayed as a reminder of their commitment to caring for the environment.
Staff at the nursery said the initiative is helping children understand the importance of conservation from an early age, encouraging them to take small but meaningful steps to protect the planet. The adoption has already sparked curiosity and conversations among the children about ocean life and how they can make a difference.
