Celebrations were well underway at Lime Grove Day Nursery in Hemel Hempstead as children and colleagues dressed up to mark International Tiger Day with a series of activities.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Park Road, pre-schoolers enjoyed a ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ storytelling session, before taking part in a themed arts and crafts activities and a special tea party inspired by the book, complete with treats including sandwiches, fruit platters and cakes, with a spread laid out for hardworking colleagues too.
As part of the festivities, children were delighted to take part in a Tiger Who Came to Tea treasure hunt in the garden outside, working together to find the ten pictures from the storybook, written by Judith Kerr, all whilst developing language skills and confidence.
Lime Grove Day Nursery Team Leader, Robyn Shuck explained;
“We had a brilliant time decorating the nursery and getting creative for International Tiger Day. Our children love animals so this was a brilliant opportunity to build on their interests, as well as presenting lots of exciting learning experiences and fun for all involved.”
International Tiger Day was celebrated on Saturday 29th July 2023.
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
