A devoted pair of colleagues from Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry were delighted to complete a climb up Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, all in aid of charity.
Completing the challenge in an impressive 3 hours and 23 minutes, Ellie Harding and Louise Woodward were able to raise a total of £1,000.00 for The Sick Children’s Trust. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues and supporters, the pair’s efforts will help the charity continue providing vital support to families during some of the most difficult times of their lives.
The climb up Snowdon, which sits at 1,085 metres above sea level, is the latest in a series of fundraising initiatives for the Westwood team, whose colleagues have been raising money for the worthy cause to help provide families with a warm, welcoming place to stay when their child is seriously ill in hospital. Without this vital support, many families would face long journeys, sleepless nights in hospital chairs, or expensive hotel stays.
Westwood Manager, Lyndsey Matthews explained;
“Everyone at Westwood is incredibly proud of Ellie and Louise for taking on such an amazing challenge in support of The Sick Children’s Trust. Climbing Snowdon is no easy feat, and to complete it in such a fantastic time while raising £1,000 is a wonderful achievement. As a team, we’re passionate about supporting charities that make a real difference to families, and we’re so thankful to all our colleagues and parents for their involvement.”
