Pennypot Day Nursery Summer Fayre raises over £1,000 for charity

The sun was shining for families and colleagues at Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham as they gathered at the setting for the annual Summer Fayre, all whilst raising funds for charity.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Pennypot Lane, children were delighted to immerse themselves in the fun and games on offer, with attractions including hook-a-duck, arts and crafts tables, lucky dip, glitter tattoos, face painting and a disco, whilst families also enjoyed refreshments from the ice cream, cake sales and socialising over a barbeque lunch.

During the festivities, families had the opportunity to browse a variety of stalls from external vendors and take part in charity raffles and a bottle tombola to raise money for The Trussell Trust, with proceeds from the day raising a total of £1179.66 for the cause, which will now go towards helping provide emergency food parcels to local people who need it most.

The Summer Fayre is the latest in a series of fundraising initiatives for the Pennypot team, whose colleagues have recently taken part in the 25k Thames Bridges Trek across London to raise money for the charity, as well as regular collections for the Woking Foodbank.

Pennypot Day Nursery Team Leader, Aprille Goubert explained;

“The Summer Fayre is an event in the calendar that we always look forward to and this year didn’t disappoint. We had the best day with our lovely nursery families and as usual, have been blown away by their generosity and drive to help us in supporting The Trussell Trust. We are incredibly grateful and are looking forward to hosting more occasions like this one.”

Pennypot Day Nursery have adopted The Trussell Trust for a year-long fundraising and donation drive.
