There were bittersweet celebrations at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time at the setting with a Paddington Bear themed graduation ceremony, inspired by the children’s interest in the beloved character.
The theme was chosen by the group following the Jubilee celebrations, where children from the award-winning setting on Windmill Business Park, Whitehill Way, made marmalade sandwiches inspired by Paddington and enjoyed the video of his meeting with the Queen.
As part of the graduation festivities, children were presented with certificates of achievement by Paddington himself, surrounded by their proud parents and practitioners, before enjoying a princess themed party with Frozen favourites, Anna and Elsa in attendance, as well as being gifted with Paddington themed lunch bags to mark the occasion.
Windmill Hill Day Nursery Manager, Lora Worthington explained;
“Our pre-schoolers have been an absolute joy to teach and we are hugely proud of everything they have achieved in their time with us. They will be hugely missed, but we are confident that the learning opportunities we have provided them with will stand them in the best possible stead for school life and their next steps in education.”
