Thank you for your interest in our nursery.
I have been the Manager at Cedars for 15 years and have worked in the early years sector for 30 years – all of those being at Childbase Partnership.
If you have any questions about the nursery please do not hesitate to contact me at any point.
Michelle Thomas – Manager
Our fees include all activities, formula milk, nappies, nappy cream, baby wipes, sun cream, freshly prepared, and award-winning well-balanced meals and snacks throughout the day.
Additionally, you will have ‘free to use’ access to our exclusive parent website – childbase@home – offering a full range of bespoke books, on-line experiences and parent workshops and masterclasses.
Once you have completed and submitted your registration form we will keep in touch with you regularly. If the space you require is available we will confirm this in writing and ask for the first month’s fees to be paid in advance – we do offer payment options which we will be happy to discuss with you. If the space is not currently available we will add you to our waiting list.
As we get closer to your start date we will organise some settling in sessions for you to meet your Key Person and share some time with your child in their room. This is a great way for us to get to know you and your child, and you to know us. More information on starting nursery and what to expect can be found here.
If you have any questions at any stage, or if you would like to book a tour if you haven’t already done so, please feel free to contact us.
We believe that parents and colleagues working together is vital in ensuring a child’s individual needs are fully met and each child gets the most from their nursery experience.
We will regularly discuss your child’s progress at nursery and will ask about any changes in routine, interests and development at home. Our Parentzone app will allow you to see regular updates on your child at nursery and you can add your own at home.
We also have our own exclusive parent website, Childbase@Home, which you can access as a nursery parent. Full details will be provided when you join us.
A key principle of our nurseries is providing safe, secure and healthy environments. Central to delivering this commitment is our in-house team of qualified Health & Safety professionals, who maintain and drive the highest standards. These professionals are further supported by a dedicated and trained Health and Safety Officer who is leading daily best practice in each nursery team.
Your child will also be introduced to Harry our Health, Safety and Environment hippo who helps support children’s awareness of these important topics.
We always recommend that families come and view our nursery to see the room environments, the interactions between colleagues and children and to have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have face to face.
Tours are currently operating in person, by appointment only, but we do ask that you wear a face mask whilst onsite.
Please call or email us to arrange your visit.
Good nutrition sits at the heart of our approach to a healthy lifestyle for your child. Not only do we believe it is essential for children’s natural growth, it’s central to their concentration, learning and development too, helping them get the most from their time at nursery.
Eating is about more than food, it is a social event too, so the nursery’s Practitioners join your child’s mealtimes. This encourages interaction between children, good table manners and the development of social skills. It is also the ideal way to offer your child a little help if needed, answer their questions about food and praise their independence.
Our nursery follows the Eco-Schools programme, operated in the UK by Keep Britain Tidy with the aim of promoting behaviour that has a positive impact on the environment. It is a global scheme operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education and does offer nurseries who achieve Green Flag, the highest award, the opportunity to twin with other Green Flag institutions around the world.
Three subjects are chosen from ten options which become the main focus for nursery based activities. The programme follows a 7 step framework which helps guide our nursery to reach Green Flag Status which we are proud to have achieved.
If you would like to register your child please use the button below to access our digital registration form.
Once registered we will confirm space availability and keep in touch with you. If a place is available we will offer this in writing with further details on how to accept your place.
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
