Meet the Manager

Thank you for your interest in our nursery.

I am the Manager of Mulberry and I have worked in the Early Year’s sector since 2005.  I have an NVQ Level 3 and NVQ Leadership and Management and joined Childbase in 2015.

If you have any questions about the nursery please do not hesitate to contact me at any point.

Kristina Edgson – Manager

Parent partnership
We believe that parents and colleagues working together is vital in ensuring a child’s individual needs are fully met and each child gets the most from their nursery experience. We will regularly discuss your child’s progress at nursery and will ask about any changes in routine, interests and development at home. Our Parentzone app will allow you to see regular updates on your child at nursery and you can add your own at home. We also have our own exclusive parent website, Childbase@Home, which you can access as a nursery parent. Full details will be provided when you join us.
Health and safety
A key principle of our nurseries is providing safe, secure and healthy environments. Central to delivering this commitment is our in-house team of qualified Health & Safety professionals, who maintain and drive the highest standards.  These professionals are further supported by a dedicated and trained Health and Safety Officer who is leading daily best practice in each nursery team. Your child will also be introduced to Harry our Health, Safety and Environment hippo who helps support children’s awareness of these important topics.
Healthy eating
Good nutrition sits at the heart of our approach to a healthy lifestyle for your child. Not only do we believe it is essential for children’s natural growth, it’s central to their concentration, learning and development too, helping them get the most from their time at nursery. Eating is about more than food, it is a social event too, so the nursery’s Practitioners join your child’s mealtimes. This encourages interaction between children, good table manners and the development of social skills. It is also the ideal way to offer your child a little help if needed, answer their questions about food and praise their independence.
Eco-schools
Our nursery follows the Eco-Schools programme, operated in the UK by Keep Britain Tidy with the aim of promoting behaviour that has a positive impact on the environment. It is a global scheme operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education and does offer nurseries who achieve Green Flag, the highest award, the opportunity to twin with other Green Flag institutions around the world. Three subjects are chosen from ten options which become the main focus for nursery based activities. The programme follows a 7 step framework which helps guide our nursery to reach Green Flag Status which we are proud to have achieved.
