World Book Day at Windmill Hill Day Nursery

‘Bedtime stories’ was the theme of this year’s annual celebrations as delighted children from Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon marked ‘World Book Day’.

At the day nursery on Windmill Business Park, Whitehill Way, children and practitioners dressed in pyjamas and brought their favourite bedtime stories to share and explore with the group, before showcasing their creativity by making the beloved characters using a range of crafting materials and acting out scenes from the pages.

To mark the occasion, Windmill Hill colleagues also held a second-hand book and DVD sale, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Windmill Hill Day Nursery Manager, Lora Worthington explained;

“We’ve had a brilliant time reading our favourite books and sharing them with our friends, as well as raising money for charity. Storytelling is essential for developing language and listening skills and is also wonderful for capturing the imagination.”
