Woodberry Day Nursery celebrate lockdown heroes

Firefighters, doctors and Childbase Partnership practitioners were just some of the people that children from Woodberry Day Nursery in Winchmore Hill dressed up as they celebrated their Covid heroes, one year on from the start of the first lockdown.

To mark the anniversary, pre-schoolers from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Church Hill showcased their creativity by making thank you cards for key worker parents at the setting, which was met with delight, whilst hardworking colleagues were thrilled to receive messages of appreciation from nursery families, as well as pizza and sweet treats from their grateful managers.

In one email of thanks, a parent wrote;

“Thank you so much to everyone at Woodberry nursery. You have all been a massive support throughout the whole time my child has been with you, and amazingly efficient throughout the pandemic. It has not been so difficult going to work when I know how much she is enjoying being at Woodberry. You are all heroes.”

Woodberry Day Nursery Team Leader, Nikol Moravova explained;

“We have had a brilliant time celebrating all of the amazing key workers and individuals who have made a difference throughout the pandemic, including our own colleagues. We have also had some really lovely messages sent to us from nursery families which means so much, especially during these times.”

Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
