Windmill Hill families step into new transitions

Families from Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon were delighted to come together for a special weekend walk, designed to help little ones settle in and parents build connections.

Ahead of their September transitions, the setting’s dedicated baby team organised the walk through a local park to give children, parents and practitioners the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxed setting, helping new families get to know the familiar faces who will be supporting their children as they begin their nursery journey.

With September marking an important period of change for many children and families, the event was organised to make the transition into nursery as welcoming and reassuring as possible, while giving parents the chance to meet other families and share experiences.

Current families also joined the walk, helping to create a strong sense of community and offering those preparing to join the baby room a warm welcome into life at Windmill Hill.

Windmill Hill Day Nursery Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;

“We know that starting nursery is a big milestone, so we wanted to create an opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know each other before those first days. It was wonderful to see our new and existing families chatting and enjoying time together. Building those relationships from the very beginning can make such a difference to the transition process, and we hope everyone came away feeling excited about the journey ahead.”
