Windmill Hill Deputy Manager takes on running challenge for charity
After setting herself the personal goal of running 50 miles throughout the month of January, Kayleigh Blaylock, Deputy Manager at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon was delighted to complete the challenge, all whilst raising vital funds for charity.
Despite a sprained ankle and a period spent in isolation, Kayleigh persevered in her efforts and as a result has now raised over £300.00 for the setting’s adopted charity, Cancer Research UK, with donations still incoming from generous families and colleagues from the day nursery on Windmill Hill Business Park, Whitehill Way.
Windmill Hill Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;
“I really enjoy exercise but have never been a fan of running so wanted to set myself a challenge which I could complete throughout lockdown, and I’m so pleased I have. Not only have I felt the benefits both physically and mentally, but am so delighted to have raised money for such a worthy cause in the process.”
Windmill Hill Day Nursery adopted Cancer Research UK in 2020 for a year-long fundraising drive, which has now been extended until the end of 2021 due to Covid-19. As a result of the pandemic, the charity are currently facing predicted losses of 20-25% in fundraising income.
