Windmill Hill Day Nursery children pay their respects to Captain Sir Tom Moore

Children and colleagues from Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon have been taking part in a series of special activities to honour the amazing life and legacy of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

From making brightly coloured flags and walking their own 100 steps in the garden outside, to creating rainbow memorial artwork and a remembrance window for all to see, groups from the day nursery on Windmill Business Park, Whitehill Way were compelled to pay their respects and honour the incredible gestures that the beloved centurion made to better the lives of others, having closely followed his story throughout the course of the pandemic.

Windmill Hill Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;

“We were so saddened to hear of the passing of Captain Tom and wanted to pay tribute to him with the children to show our gratitude for his accomplishments and extraordinary life. We had a lovely time remembering his incredible fundraising efforts, whilst showcasing our creativity and making artwork that we’re sure he’d approve of.”
