There was excitement at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon as pre-schoolers and practitioners took part in a special fundraiser to raise money for their ‘Charity of the Year’.
At the setting on Whitehill Way, children and colleagues were delighted to take to the great outdoors for a Colour Run, where they ‘dressed for mess’ and ran through a course of environmentally friendly powder paints, all whilst raising money for The Sick Children’s Trust.
As a result of their efforts, Windmill Hill raised over £600.00 for the worthy cause, with certificates of achievement presented to proud children for their participation. This money will now help provide families with a warm, welcoming place to stay when their child is seriously ill in hospital. Without this vital support, many families would face long journeys, sleepless nights in hospital chairs, or expensive hotel stays.
Windmill Hill Day Nursery Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;
“Seeing the children so full of excitement to take part in our Colour Run was fantastic. They embraced the fun of getting messy outdoors while also learning about the importance of helping others. Raising over £600 for The Sick Children’s Trust is something we are incredibly proud of as a nursery community. It means so much to know that our efforts will help provide families with comfort and support during such a difficult time.”
