West Downs Day Nursery make vital donation to local women’s refuge
Kind-hearted parents and practitioners from West Downs Day Nursery in Winchester have made a donation of essential food products and personal care items to Trinity Winchester to help local women who need it most over the Christmas period.
Following a donation drive throughout the month of December, families from the day nursery on Romsey Road made generous contributions of ambient food products, seasonal treats such as Christmas chocolates and biscuits and hygiene products including toothpaste and shower gel in an effort to ensure the refuge is well-stocked to help those facing hardship during the festive season.
West Downs Day Nursery Team Leader, Amy Stubbington explained;
“Christmas can be a magical time but also extremely tough for those in less fortunate circumstances, so we were keen to spread some festive cheer and let others know we are thinking of them, especially after what has already been such a tough year. We have been blown away by the generosity of our nursery families and colleagues in supporting this worthy cause, which provides an essential lifeline to so many.”
Trinity Winchester’s dedicated women’s service sees around 150 individuals each year, supporting and providing them with the tools to make positive life changes in order to break free from the damaging cycle of domestic abuse.
