Valentines Disco at Highfield Day Nursery
Love was in the air at Highfield Day Nursery in Edgbaston as children celebrated Valentines Day with red themed dress up and a special disco.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Highfield Road, children danced to their favourite songs and enjoyed a spread of party food to mark the day which promotes love and friendship.
Festivities were rounded off with a charity bake sale, where cakes, love heart brownies, chocolate strawberries and milkshakes were sold to raise money for ‘Mind’.
Highfield Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Laura Phipps said;
“The children love to celebrate special occasions and Valentines is a day that encourages many wonderful values such as kindness and thoughtfulness. The bake sale was the perfect end to the day and enabled us to raise a total of £56 for Mind.”
Highfield has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
“We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem,” said Natalie Hudson, Nursery Manager.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
