Science week at St Albans Day Nursery
Volcano experiments, lights and reflections all featured in Grasshoppers in St Albans celebration of Science Week.
The nursery on York Road decided to mark the event in celebration of the time the late Stephen Hawking spent in the city, as a schoolboy.
Experiments included fizzy ice, coke and pennies as well as tie-dying. All rooms took part in Science Week with babies undertaking sensory activities around the theme of light and reflections.
Grasshoppers Manager Jennifer Neville said:
“We were delighted to make Science Week in honour of the late scientist, Stephen Hawking. At Grasshoppers we aim to stimulate and nurture young minds to develop interests for life. Science is a topic which inspires awe and wonder as well as helping children to understand processes.”
British Science Week, run by the British Science Association is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, featuring entertaining and engaging events and activities across the UK for people of all ages.
