Sandfield Day Nursery mark lockdown anniversary
Dressed as key workers and inspirational figures from over the course of the pandemic, children and colleagues from Sandfield Day Nursery in Headington were delighted to put on costumes and celebrate their own lockdown heroes.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Sandfield Road, pre-schoolers enjoyed a series of themed activities to mark one year since the first lockdown, including creating their own hero and discussing the special people in their lives, whilst younger children got involved by making rainbow handprint masterpieces and hardworking colleagues enjoyed a range of sweet treats courtesy of proud managers.
Sandfield Day Nursery Manager, Kim Hambridge explained;
“We have had a brilliant time celebrating our lockdown heroes and the occasion also generated lots of lovely interest from the public as they passed by. It was wonderful to see the effort that went in to the costumes and discuss the people who have inspired us over the past year, as well as celebrate our colleagues, who have worked so hard to continue delivering an extraordinary service to our nursery families.”
Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
