Reverend drops in, to read to Owlsmoor Day Nursery children
The children at Greengables Day Nursery in Yeovil Road, Owlsmoor welcomed a very special visitor recently, The Reverend Catherine.
The Reverend came to read the ‘Story of Baby Jesus’ to the children and discussed the origin and meaning of the festive season. They also talked about why we celebrate birthdays and they sang ‘Away in a Manger’ together.
Children were proud to show the Reverend Catherine all the lovely Christmas craft activities they have been doing including card making, grotto building and homemade wreaths.
Greengables Manager Faye Ballard said:
“We were delighted to welcome Reverend Catherine into our nursery to mark the Christmas period with us. Christmas is a special time for children and often with the excitement of gift giving, the real meaning of the season gets lost. Having the local vicar in was a great way of helping children to appreciate the Christian origins of the season.”
