A refreshing take on fundraising at Brinds Well Day Nursery

Young fundraisers from Brinds Well Day Nursery in Orpington have turned lemons into lemonade to raise money for mental health charity, ‘Mind’.

After raising over £100 for the cause from lemonade stand sales at their annual Summer Fayre, pre-schoolers and practitioners from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Hawstead Lane decided to bring back the popular beverage. After adding sugar and water to the freshly squeezed fruits, delighted children served the drink to their parents at pick up time.

Brinds Well Day Nursery Manager, Nichola Cass explained;

“We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem. The summer months allow us to be more adventurous with our fundraising which everyone is really enjoying.”

Brinds Well has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.

Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
