Pets bring joy at Green Park Day Nursery
There were smiles all round at Green Park Day Nursery in Reading as delighted children and practitioners met a range of animals for a special ‘pet therapy’ session, organised by colleagues determined to change the perception of ‘Blue Monday’.
With the presence of animals having been proven by scientists to have incredibly positive effects on both physical and mental health, the group from the day nursery on South Oak Way were thrilled to get up close and personal to the beloved pets brought in from home, including dogs, guinea pigs and a snail named Gary.
Green Park Day Nursery Manager, Mandy Cooper explained;
“Even during a pandemic, there are no Blue Monday’s here at Green Park as the children bring so much fun and energy to the setting and we love introducing new and exciting activities to develop their interests further. The occasion was not only a great opportunity to focus on personal wellbeing, but to let our peers and colleagues know how valued they are during such difficult times.”
