‘Out of this world’ graduation at Sandfield Day Nursery

There were bittersweet celebrations at Sandfield Day Nursery in Headington as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time at the award-winning setting with a graduation ceremony and space themed tea party before leaving to start school.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Sandfield Road, the annual farewell festivities were this year adapted to comply with covid-safe restrictions, meaning parents were unable to attend the ceremony, however practitioners still ensured to make the occasion a memorable one for the delighted children.

After receiving their certificates of achievement, photo frame gifts and personalised cards of congratulations from Manager, Kim Hambridge and their key workers, pre-schoolers enjoyed a handmade party tea in the specially-decorated space themed room, before venturing out into the sunshine to eat rocket lollies with their friends.

Sandfield Day Nursery Manager, Kim Hambridge explained;

“We are so proud of the children and everything they have achieved in their time at Sandfield. Although it’s under slightly different circumstances to usual, the children had a brilliant time celebrating the end of this chapter. We are very sad to see them go, but are confident that we are sending them off to school as happy, confident and capable learners.”
