Making friends across the world at Windmill Hill Day Nursery
Delighted children from Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon are getting acquainted with pre-schoolers from across the world thanks to a new letter writing initiative.
After writing to a kindergarten in Munich, Germany, children from the day nursery on Windmill Business Park, Whitehill Way were thrilled to receive a large envelope filled with a response letter, artwork and handprints from their international friends to begin the relationship as pen pals.
The children have already started planning what they will send in their next letter, and hope to find out more about the German culture and the differences and similarities between the two nurseries.
Windmill Hill Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Kayleigh Blaylock explained;
“This is an incredible opportunity and we are thrilled that the Munich nursery is as enthusiastic about the venture as we are. This project offers a vast number of benefits, including language skills, letter writing, social development and a wider understanding of the world.”
