Families and colleagues at Lime Grove Day Nursery in Hemel Hempstead were delighted to celebrate everyone’s favourite elephant as part of a fun-filled Elmer Day at the setting.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Park Road, pre-schoolers took part in a variety of exciting Elmer-themed activities throughout the day, from arts and crafts to sensory play and storytelling sessions. Meanwhile, colleagues enjoyed a vibrant themed Elmer fruit bar, adding even more colour and fun to the special occasion.
Families were warmly welcomed into the setting for a special stay and play session, followed by a delicious sandwich tea. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together, create special memories and reflect on the important message behind the beloved patchwork elephant – celebrating kindness and the importance of embracing what makes us all unique.
Lime Grove Quality Manager, Tegan Alderson explained;
“Elmer Day was a wonderful opportunity for our children, families and colleagues to come together and celebrate the important values of inclusion and individuality. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the colourful world of Elmer through creative activities, sensory experiences and storytelling, while families loved spending quality time together during our stay and play session. It was a fantastic day that truly reflected the caring and nurturing environment we are proud to create at Lime Grove.”
