Festivities were underway at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford as families and colleagues gathered for a fun-filled Summer Fete, all whilst raising money for a very important cause.
The setting’s outdoor spaces came to life as children enjoyed an afternoon packed with entertainment, from garden games and arts and crafts to a tombola and refreshments in the sunshine. The highlight of the day was a visit from much-loved Toy Story favourite, Woody, who delighted children by posing for photographs and joining in with celebrations.
As a result of their efforts, the nursery was delighted to raise a grand total of £1,139.00 for their chosen charity; The Sick Children’s Trust. The money raised will help provide ‘Homes from Home’ for families with seriously ill children receiving hospital treatment, allowing them to stay close to their loved ones when they need it most.
Lavenders Deputy Manager, Oli Baucutt explained;
“Our Summer Fete was a wonderful opportunity to bring our nursery community together for a day of fun while supporting such a worthy cause. We were thrilled to see so many families join us, and we’d like to thank everyone who came along and contributed so generously. Raising £1,139.00 for The Sick Children’s Trust is an incredible achievement, and we’re so proud of everyone who helped play a part.”
