Lavenders Day Nursery colleagues mark Mental Health Awareness Week

In order to mark ‘Mental Health Awareness Week’ in the UK, colleagues from Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford are exchanging messages of kindness in order to stay connected.

Whilst the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bushmead Avenue is currently operating with a reduced number of staff in order to care for the children of key workers, thoughtful practitioners have been mailing bespoke letters to each other in the hopes of lifting spirits and showing appreciation during a time that can feel lonely for many.

Lavenders Day Nursery Manager, Juliana Di ‘Niro explained;

“Mental Health Awareness Week is a hugely important event and a great opportunity to reflect on the small steps we can take to improve the wellbeing of both ourselves and those around us; especially at the moment as lockdown can feel extremely isolating. Writing the letters has been excellent, and I hope the heartfelt words that our colleagues have exchanged have reminded them of how valued they are.”

Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 18-24 May 2020. This year’s theme is kindness.
