‘Jumping in’ to fundraising at Greengables Day Nursery
Children from Greengables Day Nursery in Owlsmoor were delighted to put on their wellies and waterproof clothing to ‘jump in’ to fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
At the day nursery on Yeovil Road, pre-schoolers are taking part in the ‘Jumping in Puddles for Cancer’ campaign, which encourages people across the country to get muddy in aid of the worthy cause, with a special day at the setting, whilst generous parents and practitioners have made donations, raising £140 so far – and counting.
Greengables Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Julia Grant explained;
“The entire nursery had a fantastic time jumping in puddles to raise money for Cancer Research UK, despite having to improvise due to the lack of rain. We love helping these worthy causes and involving the children with exciting fundraising activities, and we can’t wait to continue this through the rest of the year.”
Greengables Day Nursery adopted Cancer Research UK in 2020 for a year-long fundraising drive, which has now been extended until the end of 2021 due to Covid-19. As a result of the pandemic, the charity are currently facing predicted losses of 20-25% in fundraising income.
