Farewell festivities were underway for Julia Durbin Day Nursery children as they embarked on a special trip to the farm to mark the end of their pre-school journey.
Following their graduation ceremony at the setting on Roosevelt Drive, 33 pre-schoolers headed off on one final adventure together before beginning their next chapter at school, visiting Millets Wildside and the exciting array of animals that call it home.
The children loved getting closer to nature, meeting meerkats, raccoons and capybaras, before walking alongside wallabies on the Wildside Walk. They were also treated to a bird of prey show, featuring more than 100 birds, including the largest bird of prey in Oxfordshire.
After working up an appetite, the children enjoyed a picnic while watching the lemurs being fed, before heading back to nursery on the coach. To make the occasion even more special, each child was presented with a personalised pre-school leavers’ t-shirt, featuring all their names as a memento of their time together and friendships made along the way.
Julia Durbin Manager, Emma Wallbridge explained;
“This was such a lovely way to round-off the children’s time at Julia Durbin, and although it was bittersweet knowing this was their final trip together, we hope it has given them a special memory to take with them. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved during their years with us and wish them all the very best as they start at school.”
