Highfield Day Nursery Manager celebrates 20 years of service
There was cause for celebration at Highfield Day Nursery in Edgbaston as colleagues honoured their beloved Manager, Natalie Hudson for 20 years of service.
Having started at the award-winning setting on Highfield Road in 2000 as a Nursery Practitioner, Natalie has since helped to positively shape the lives of thousands of young children, whilst using her hard work and dedication to work her way up through various roles, including that of Nursery Manager.
With Natalie’s input, Highfield has achieved a triple ‘Outstanding’ outcome from Ofsted, who in their last inspection credited the nursery for their “excellent” teaching practices, “wonderfully harmonious” environment and “warm, friendly and attentive” staff team who are “highly committed to providing the very best for all children.”
As well as helping to build and maintain the nursery’s fantastic reputation within the local community, under Natalie’s leadership Highfield won the ‘West Midlands Early Years School of the Year’ in 2019 as part of West Midlands Education Awards, after being praised for their tireless pursuit of excellence in every area of their provision.
This included the ethically sourced, home cooked meals and snacks that are served every day and have earnt the nursery a sought after ‘Food for Life’ award, sector-recognised training programmes, eco-initiatives for which Highfield have won a prestigious ‘Green Flag’ award from Eco-Schools and tireless fundraising for charity.
Childbase Partnership Regional Director, Alison Beard explained;
“Natalie has formed many amazing bonds with nursery families over the years and still bumps into them every now and then as a local girl, always having time to stop and find out how the children are doing, some of which are in their teens and twenties now. Natalie has also made some incredible friendships, furthered her own professional development by gaining qualifications such as an NVQ in Management and led Highfield to countless accolades and victories. We are hugely proud of all she has achieved and can’t wait to see what’s next in store.”
Speaking of the milestone achievement, Natalie said;
“I have so many highlights and personal achievements from the past 20 years such as winning Early Years School of the Year in 2019 and Deputy Manager of the Year in 2011. I have been lucky to travel with my job and have also experienced time at other sister settings, including being a temporary Deputy Manager at Edwalton in Nottingham and Manager at Westwood Day Nursery, which was hugely rewarding. I feel very lucky to work with such a passionate team, who have not only continued to deliver exceptional childcare through a pandemic, but bring joy every day.”
