Highbury Lodge Day Nursery celebrates 20th birthday
From sharing memories to indulging in sweet treats, practitioners from Highbury Lodge Day Nursery in Hitchin were delighted to celebrate the setting’s 20th birthday.
To mark the milestone occasion, children and colleagues from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Highbury Road enjoyed a picnic party in the garden outside, where food and cake was prepared by talented Nursery Chef, Claire Ball, before reminiscing over their fondest moments from the past two decades.
Eileen Duckett, who has worked at Highbury Lodge for 15 years explained;
“From winning Nursery of the Year at the Nursery World awards in 2010 to celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with the children in Hitchin Market Square, there are so many amazing memories that I will always cherish. I am very proud to work at Highbury Lodge and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”
Some of the longest serving members of the Highbury Lodge team also include Joanna Goodship, who has been at the setting for 24 years, as well as Lorraine Boston and Alison Goodrum, who pride themselves on 21 years of service, spanning even before the nursery was acquired by Childbase Partnership.
Highbury Lodge Day Nursery Manager, Carol Kewley explained;
“I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved over the years and especially recently as it’s been amazing to watch the team continue to deliver outstanding childcare, even in the midst of a pandemic. It’s a pleasure to work with such passionate people and see the children flourish day in and day out.”
