Hampstead Gate Day Nursery mark lockdown anniversary
Complete with a rainbow themed dress up day, children and colleagues from Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes took part in a range of special activities and celebrated inspirational people from the pandemic to mark one year since the first Covid lockdown.
At the newly-opened day nursery on Eelbrook Avenue, teams created a rainbow pathway for families to walk along, as well as a window display to reflect on the past year as they entered the setting. As part of the festivities, children made a special cake which they enjoyed as part of their lunch, whilst hardworking colleagues were gifted goody bags with a personal message of thanks, along with pizza and cookies from their grateful managers.
Hampstead Gate Day Nursery Manager, Elkie Taylor explained;
“Our journey as a nursery had not yet begun by the first lockdown so we have been collaborating as a team and re-creating a lot of the things we did in our previous settings to mark the occasion. We are so grateful to all of the amazing key workers who have worked so hard throughout the pandemic and we will continue to celebrate them every day.”
Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
