Greengables Day Nursery make Easter food bank donation
Generous parents and practitioners from Greengables Day Nursery in Owlsmoor have made a donation of seasonal treats to their local food bank to help people in the community who need it most in the run up to Easter.
Following an appeal for Easter eggs from the Crowthorne Food Bank and a record-rise in demand for items due to the pandemic, families from the day nursery on Yeovil Road kindly made socially-distanced donations in time for the festivities.
Greengables Day Nursery Manager, Lyndsey Burns explained;
“We regularly support the food bank as they provide a crucial lifeline to so many local people. Our nursery families are brilliant at getting behind the causes we support and we were delighted to receive around 50 donations, which was met with a wonderful response. After what has already been such a tough year we wanted to ensure people had a nice Easter break and something to enjoy.”
The Crowthorne Food Bank opened in 2012 and relies on the donations of the public and help of volunteers. The charity are currently also currently appealing for long-life milk, lunchbox snacks, tinned rice pudding and share pack crisps.
