Celebrating the ‘Class of 2026’ at Cedars

There were bittersweet celebrations at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time at the setting with a special graduation ceremony.

Dressed in their party clothes, children took centre stage at the festival-inspired celebration, proudly performing songs they had been learning for their families. They then collected their graduation scrolls and gifts to commemorate their journey at the Mentmore Road setting.

The celebration was made even more meaningful by the children’s hands-on involvement in planning every aspect of the event during dedicated nursery sessions. From choosing a colourful rainbow theme to deciding on a menu of pizza and hot dogs, the children had a say in how they wanted to celebrate. They also requested rainbow temporary tattoos, a fun photo booth and hay bales to help bring their festival vision to life.

Cedars Day Nursery Manager, Lauren Trotter explained;

“We were so proud to see the children take ownership of planning their own celebration. They shared fantastic ideas and worked together to create a party that reflected their interests and personalities. It was wonderful to see their plans come to life, and we couldn’t have asked for a more fitting way to celebrate. We will miss them all so much, but know they are ready for their next adventure at school.”
