Five star kitchen inspection at Hampstead Gate Day Nursery
There was cause for celebration at Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes as the Food Standards Agency awarded the setting a five star kitchen rating, the highest ranking in the scheme, following a thorough inspection of the premises.
After reviewing key areas such as food handling, storage and preparation, the newly-opened day nursery on Eelbrook Avenue was commended for its excellent hygiene practices, with compliments going to Nursery Chef, Olivia Cherry for the rigorous processes in place.
To thank her for her continued efforts, Olivia received a bonus reward payment, whilst proud colleagues gifted flowers and a giant personalised cookie by way of appreciation and children offered their congratulations with homemade cards and pictures.
Hampstead Gate Day Nursery Chef, Olivia Cherry explained;
“I love providing exciting meals every day at nursery which are both delicious and nutritional. It is so rewarding hearing the feedback from the staff, parents and most importantly the children, as to how much they enjoy my food. I feel so incredibly proud to receive my first five-star rating in my very own kitchen.”
Food plays a key role in daily activities at the setting, from celebrating diversity in marking multicultural festivals with traditional ingredients, to growing herbs and vegetables in the garden outside, where children also learn key maths, science and conservation skills.
