Exploring the Seven Wonders of the World at Cedar Park Day Nursery
Budding young explorers from Cedar Park Day Nursery in Twyford have been learning about the Seven Wonders of the World through a range of exciting activities.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bridge Farm Road, pre-schoolers started their journey of discovery by placing pinpoints of the landmarks on a map of the world, from the Colosseum in Italy to the Great Wall of China, as well as discussing local culture, including food and language to extend the learning experience.
After doing their background research, children were delighted to showcase their creativity by making the Taj Mahal from junk modelling materials, before discussing with their friends which one the attractions they would like to visit most and why.
Cedar Park Day Nursery Manager, Rachael Main explained;
“The children had a brilliant time exploring the Seven Wonders and learning more about each country as they went. This provided a brilliant opportunity to develop geographical knowledge, as well as gain a wider understanding of the world, promote citizenship, build cognitive skills and inspire curiosity.”
