Edwalton Day Nursery celebrate lockdown heroes
Doctors, nurses, shop assistants, police officers and teachers were just some of the inspirational people that children and colleagues from Edwalton Day Nursery in Nottingham dressed up as to honour heroes of the pandemic, one year on.
Marking the anniversary, children from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Melton Road showcased their creativity by making vehicles including a Royal Mail van and fire engine using recycled materials, as well as role playing as surgeons, chefs and other special people who have made a difference over the past year.
Edwalton Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Rebecca Gilson explained;
“We have had a brilliant time dressing up as our lockdown heroes and have loved seeing the wonderful efforts from the children. The past year has been like no other we have experienced, so it has been lovely to shine a light on and celebrate those who have made such a positive impact during these challenging times.”
Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
